How often should I replace my mattress?
The typical lifespan for a quality mattress set (traditional innerspring mattress with box spring) is around ten years. This will be affected by your size and weight as well as use patterns, for example if you always sit in the same spot when putting on shoes that area could wear more quickly. Most modern mattresses do not require turning (or flipping) but can still be rotated on occasion to extend mattress life. Memory foam technology has improved greatly since its creation in the 1970s and with proper care will routinely last ten years even with daily use.
